Oh hey im so sorry i should have also asked what you were already riding.. so what are you wearing in right now ?
Awesome! Those are the main wheels i’ve been considering :D Your review’s great too really considering baluts. I’ve got some Sayshun Plasma A+ wheels, 78a I think. They’ll slide pretty well once i’m up to quite a high speed but even with their rounded lip they’re overly grippy.
how do those metal boards even ride?, in comparison to a hardwood
They’re great man! Just imagine a board the same shape with nearly no flex (there’s a tiny bit). Which is great for bombing and sliding but it still carves pretty beasty on the Randals. I just gripped it but the holes meant I barely had to until I started doing 180s. This particular board has no concave but Dave Cindrich makes ones that have it. So good when it rolls into a curb and takes a chunk out of it and sustains no damage haha. Oh and weightwise it’s a bit heavier than most wooden ones, weighs about the same as my mates Apex 37 though haha.
Today I went to Hopkin Skate, the best skate store in Australia, maybe the world. So many longboards, I nearly died, I didn’t want to bore my girlfriend by looking at every single board but when I go back I will. I brought my Cindrich Screamer which some people ACTUALLY recognised (one guy even knew Dave Cindrich) and some of them tried it out. Such a nice atmosphere, they even tried to convince Em to start skating but I feel it’s a lost cause haha.
Got some griptape so i’ll post some pics of my holey board, should be suitably painful.
Now I just need a sweet jap import with roofracks to put the board on and some more longboarding friends and my life it set.
